Creating awareness through Digital Signage
In order to increase employee awareness, Uppsalahem has installed several large screens in company canteens all around Uppsala. The screens reach out to 140 employees with daily, fresh, updated important company information and other subjects such as the local weather forecast.
Mission
Since only 25 of 140 carpenters, cleaners and other employees are able to access Intranet information in their daily work from PC’s, Uppsalahem desired to improve its internal information flow using digital signage screens in canteens.
Challenge
To find a cost efficient way of improving the communication with employees and be able to supply updates regarding ongoing projects, weather, sickness and other information of value to the organisation in its everyday business.
Solution
Several large screens have been installed in canteens around Uppsala and the rooms are accessed every day by the 140 employees. The content contains information about the local weather, intranet information and specific "on screen" information. By reusing existing internal web content and also distributing it to employees in convenient place and times, a cost efficient solution was achieved.
Result
Employees and managers are very positive. "In the beginning I did not believe in the importance of digital signage for internal information. Now I do!" says Gun Marie, Manager in the district Salabackar.
