"If I had the chance to do it over again from the start - with the knowledge I have today - I would focus EVEN MORE on content rather than technology."

Mats Grönqvist,
IT and Logistics Manager - Stores, Svenska Spel

From static "poster" to individual interactivity

Svenska Spel is one of the pioneers of Digital Signage in Sweden. "When we made the first moves towards digital distribution of information three years ago, the primary reason was to ensure an attractive betting environment," says Mats Grönqvist, IT Manager – Stores, Svenska Spel, who has been involved from the start, and shares his experiences here.

Svenska Spel provides the agents with a large amount of information which is to be visualised out in the store and be available to customers. The first version of the system consisted in principle of static images that were downloaded on screen. Today, information is updated in real time – by the second, films are shown in Promotion screens 32" and are continually being replaced, some every day others every fifteen minutes. In addition, interactivity has been added to the 19" screens.

We have been adding more and more functionality step by step. Undoubtedly, the two biggest changes to the system over this two year period have been the increase in volume of information and the addition of interactivity. However, the information has always been updated in real time.

- MultiQ is and has been an incredibly good and knowledgeable partner. Now that the technical platform is in place, we realise we can continue to develop the content with MultiQ. Now we can go out and say that we have an information flow that can be tailored based on individual requirements. At least this is where we are heading.
